Alan NisbetAlan is the Managing Director of the Buccleuch Professional Services companies of Buccleuch FBR, Buccleuch John Sale and Buccleuch Town & Country. Alan qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1982, joined FBR in 1987 and took over as Managing Director in 2004. He is mainly involved in farm and estate management and is also an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Alan is past President of the South of Scotland and Borders Valuers Association and a Panel Valuer for the Agricultural Mortgage Corporation.

Andrew WemyssAndrew has been a director of the company for almost 40 years. His professional qualifications include diplomas in Agriculture, Farm Business Management and membership of FRAgs (Fellow Royal Agricultural Society). Andrew also specialises in the management of farms, estates, farm co-operatives and valuation work throughout Scotland.

Richard ArmitageRichard joined FBR in 2001 after 10 years practical farm management experience. He was appointed as a Director of Buccleuch FBR in 2006 and specialises in farm and estate management, environment and rural surveying work. Richard is a Member of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and also holds an honours degree in Agriculture.

John TrotterJohn Trotter joined FBR in 1996 as an associate director with more than four decades experience in farm management. John was formerly with the Scottish Executive Agricultural Department and then worked as a private agricultural consultant. He also has a wide ranging portfolio specialising in planning and property development.

Stuart BuchananStuart graduated from University of Edinburgh with an honours degree in Agriculture. Before joining Smiths Gore as a Farm Management Consultant, he gained several years of practical experience with a variety of UK agribusinesses. He joined FBR in November 2003 as a Farm Management Accountant/Consultant.

Colin FergusonColin joined Buccleuch FBR in January 2006 as a Financial Controller. As well as dealing with the company accounts, Colin also plays a key role in the preparation of some client accounts. He has also been assisting the busy accounts department at sister company Buccleuch John Sale.

Fiona GrahamFiona joined FBR with a strong accountancy background in 1997. She started her career with FBR as an administrative assistant covering farm, secretarial, accounts and livestock recording. She now deals with Property Letting and sales within the busy Property Department.

Jan TonnerJan joined FBR in 1999. She holds a SHND in Secretarial Studies with Languages (French and Italian) and has 25 years' secretarial experience, including 10 years with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in London, Rome and Lilongwe. Jan is Personal Assistant to Andrew Wemyss.

Angela TaitAngela joined Buccleuch FBR as a Farm Secretary following the successful completion of a BTEC national Diploma for Agricultural Secretaries at Brooksby College, Melton Mowbray. She now works as an accounts assistant for John Sale and Town and Country.

Margaret LethamMargaret is personal secretary to managing Director Alan Nisbet and has more than 30 years experience in the sector, holding senior positions in both Edinburgh and London. She joined FBR in 2001 and provides full secretarial duties and assistance to other senior staff when necessary.

Celia RobertsCelia works in the firm’s busy payroll dealing mostly with agricultural payrolls. Her expertise extends to dealing with payrolls for other clients including shops, restaurants and hairdressers. Prior to joining FBR in 1996 she worked in the hotel and catering industry.

Sarah EvansSarah is an experienced Financial Administrator and Assistant to the Financial Controller, responsible for administering the company clients and general accounts. She also plays a key role in the thriving Wages Bureau.

Ann JohnsonAnn comes from a farming background and joined FBR in 1997. She previously worked as a self employed farm secretary for 23 years in the Borders area.

Emma EassonEmma joined Buccleuch FBR in June 2007 as a trainee farm secretary. Emma works with both in-house clients and out on farms and also provides key assistance with the running of the Wages Bureau.

Samantha ElliotSince joining the Buccleuch FBR team in June 2007, Samantha has taken on and developed the role of office junior. She studied at Napier University and now provides vital support to the secretarial staff. |
